AISI 430 Stainless Steel Round Bars are crafted from a ferritic stainless steel alloy known for its exceptional properties, making it indispensable in applications requiring high resistance and strength. As a member of the ferritic group of steels, AISI 430 contains straight chromium, offering excellent formability, corrosion resistance, and practical mechanical properties. Its resistance to nitric acid renders it invaluable in various chemical applications.

The exceptional properties of AISI 430 Stainless Steel Round Bars stem from its chemical composition, providing desired mechanical and physical attributes. Notably, these bars exhibit excellent resistance against stress corrosion cracking, as well as nitric acid, organic acids, and oxidizing agents. Moreover, AISI 430 bars showcase high corrosion resistance, particularly in buffed or polished conditions, comparable to Grades 304.

AISI 430 Stainless Steel Round Bars demonstrate remarkable resistance against oxidation at elevated temperatures, reaching up to 1598°F (870°C) intermittently and 1499°F (815°C) continuously. Annealing serves to overcome the bars’ brittleness within the temperature range of 400-600°C, ensuring optimal performance. While thermal treatment is not favored for hardening, welding is conducted at preheated temperatures of 150-200°C, followed by post-welding annealing at 790-815°C.

The manufacturing process commences with the meticulous selection and testing of raw materials, including essential tests such as bending, hardening, and chemical analysis. Upon verification, materials undergo heating, hot forming, water quenching, and inspection to ensure compliance with international standards. A mill certificate is issued to certify the material’s adherence to specifications, accompanied by comprehensive documentation.

AISI 304 and AISI 430 stainless steel differ primarily in nickel content, with AISI 430 lacking nickel while AISI 304 contains 8-10.5% nickel. Additionally, AISI 430 is a non-hardenable ferritic stainless steel grade, offering good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties suitable for various applications at a competitive price point.
